I'm an avid ApplePay user. I usually have my phone in my pocket or the side pocket of my purse. Meaning, it's always readily available. On the occasion when I have to pay at a store that doesn't have ApplePay, it's always a mission. This is the order of operations:
All up, this can take way too long when under the pressure of a store checkout line that's building behind you. Next obstacle is checking out in stores where you have to bag your own goods. For a couple years, the biggest challenge came about when having to buy a significant amount of groceries at a self-bagging store because you had to quickly bag the goods at the end of the converter belt as the cashier completed her scanning (lest you held up the line), THEN run back to the point-of-sale terminal to scan your card or phone as most systems didn't allow for the scanning/touch paying to happen until all groceries had completely been scanned. But thankfully I can tell some diligent UX designer has been on the case. Now it seems as soon as the checker starts the scanning, you're now able to:
Now if someone could come up with one card tag to replace the 8 that are hanging from my keys, that would be great. |
